Essential Gear to Get Started
Robin has prepared a couple of articles to get you started playing drums. They provide a list of all the sticks, books, pads, and even drum sets so you can plan and prepare for what you'll need to start playing and what you'll need down the road. There's also an article dedicated to kids and what they will need to start drumming as well!
